THE EXPERIMENT
This experiment, created originally by Thomas Young, envisions the strange mechanics of light when travelling. Waves in water when passing through a slit radiate out and create one single pattern. Waves in water through two slits create interference patters between the colliding waves. After trying this same experiment with light,
the single slit creates a single line. However, using two slits the light creates an interference pattern, something that shouldn’t happen in classical physics. After reproducing this experiment (and probably getting fed up with thier results) someone decided to try to measure specifically which slit the photons were travelling through. The strangest part was that when an observation unit was added to the system, the patterns went back to two slits! The act of observing changed the photons potential paths!
